Clemson Tigers

Man, I have been so bad about blogging lately! Last week I was sick for the majority of the week and even stayed home from work 2 days! I finally felt better Friday…just in time to go to the game!

I can’t even tell you how awesome the game was this weekend. I’m not trying to be Debby Downer, but I didn’t go into the game with high expectations that Clemson would win. I love my Tigers, but they can be cause quite the heartbreak. I think that made the win THAT much more exciting!

Our tailgate was a blast on Saturday! It was our normal group and we definitely had our fair share of fun!

Clemson is now 4-0 and takes on Virgina Tech this weekend. It’s going to be weird staying at home this weekend and not going to a tailgate! However, I have plenty to do to get ready for a test I have to take next Monday for work!

How 'bout them CLEMSON TIGERS?!?!

Last weekend the Clemson Tigers defeated the Auburn Tigers and ended their 17 game winning streak. This was a HUGE win for Clemson! I am not a fair weather fan by any means but I was shocked with the outcome! Clemson always has a LOT of potential...they get great recruits but then the coaches can't seem to maximize the recruits potential.

It was a noon game so we got to the tailgate around 8 a.m. However, we left at 6 a.m. to meet in the parking lot at a local grocery store to caravan over. We had most of our tailgating crew, minus my sister.

The weather started out chilly (ok ok I know I'm from the midwest but seeing as how it was in the high 90's ALL summer and then the temperature changed quickly to the 50's and 60's...that's chilly) and the day was overcast but by early afternoon the sun was out and it was gorgeous.

Friends!

My parents and I!

Our usual sister pic but my sis is missing.

I've been tailgating at Clemson for 8 years now and this tailgate/game was one of my favorites. This upcoming Saturday will be a struggle for Clemson since they play FSU but I'm pumped and can't wait to be there. GO TIGERS!

The Brantley Gilbert Recap!

So as I blogged about yesterday, Merritt and I went to Athens last night to see Brantley Gilbert!

I wasn't sure that we were going to make it to the show because my mom called, while we were driving, to let us know that the highway was shut down because the FBI had gotten a tip about a suspicious truck. Man were my feathers ruffled. I decided that we should go to the area where it was shut down and give it a go. When we got there the highway was back open and we did not encounter any traffic...HALLELULAH!

The concert was at the Georgia Theatre in Athens. It was recently rebuilt after a fire a couple years back. The venue was awesome and Merritt and I were in the third row! I do have somewhat of a beef to pick with Athens, as finding somewhere to park was QUITE the ordeal!

Brantley did not come on stage until 10:40, even though he was supposed to come on at 10 but he was AWESOME! He is great live and puts on a killer show! I will definitely be seeing him in the future. This meant that we did not leave Athens until midnight and I did not get home until 2 aka this girl is TIRED today!

His deluxe version of his CD "Halfway to Heaven" comes out today soo if you aren't familiar with him be sure to check it out.

Merritt, if you are reading this, which I'm pretty sure you are...THANKS again for going with me! I owe you!!!

Brantley Gilbert

I'm headed to another concert tonight! Merritt and I are off to Athens to see Brantley Gilbert. It's for his CD release party and I had to do some begging to get her to go since country music is not her thing! Isn't she such a good friend?!?!

It's going to be a LONG night because Brantley does not go on stage until 10 but I'm super excited. This is my third time seeing him and he is awesome live!

Brantley Gilbert, here we come!!!

Tailgating

I realized this morning that I hadn't blogged about tailgating season thus far...partly because I've been CRAZY busy. I feel like the fall/football season is going to fly by because there is always something going on.

Anyways, the first game was last weekend and my friend Liz from Wisco was in town. We left for Clemson at 7 a.m. and met up with my friends to tailgate.

Unfortunately I did not pace myself andddd was down for the count by about 1 p.m....yes, don't judge!

Liz and I

Jello Buckets! Instead of a jello shot its a sand bucket filled with a jello shot...this is pretty much what did me in!

Some of the girls!

This weekend Clemson played Wofford and the majority of my friends were not in town for the game. I still wanted to go so I went and tailgated with my parents and this time I paced myself...success! My dad was supposed to be in Brazil for a two week business trip but it got canceled at the last minute and we was able to join us! We sure missed having my sister there.

My parents and me. I decided that it would be a great idea to wear 3 inch wedges to walk around in all day. My feet are a HOT mess today and I learned my lesson...the hard way.

The Tigers pulled off a win...even though they played HORRIBLE. They are going to have to step it up next weekend if they want to be able to beat Auburn!

I Love My Green Bay Packers!

Blakeli unfortunately woke me up this morning at 5:30 a.m. because she found her ball hidden in my closet. A ball for that dog is like "puppy crack"...yes I just called it "puppy crack" because she freaks out and wants to play and play and play and play...not exactly how I wanted to begin my day. I then remembered what day it was, the NFL season opener and the Packers vs Saints game!!!!!!!!!!!

I immediately found myself in a great mood! I cannot wait to go home and put on my packer apparel and watch the game. Now I just have to make it through 8 hours of work and try to contain myself.

GO PACK GO!!!

Acoustic Jam

I keep thinking that today is Monday, when it's not...I am going to be in a state of confusion the whole week! I'm back after an awesome weekend filled with friends and football.

Tonight I am headed to the Acoustic Jam. It's a concert put on by one of the Country Radio Stations. You can't buy tickets for this event, you have to win them...and by win I mean win them at the station or stand in line at a ticket drop! Last week my sister was nice enough to stand in line for an hr to get tickets for me!

I will be hearing Brantley Gilbert, Eli Young Band, Craig Campbell, Thompson Square and Hunter Hayes. I can't wait!

Football Season has Ahriiiived!

Sooo I've been in a bit of a funk (like haven't had an appetite, sooo not normal for me!) this week...my sister left today for Boston :( and there's been other things going on...buuuut I'm coming out of said funk and am ready to paarrtay this weekend because FOOTBALL SEASON IS HERE!!! aka I will be in rare form from now until December!...kidding...maybe!

I've blogged about tailgating before (like here) because I just love it so so much. I mean really what's not to love? Beer, food, football and good times with friends...hellooo, its awesome!

I have also done quiite a bit of shopping in preparation for my gameday outfits and I have my attire for the first three games planned out...you're just going to have to wait and see!

Sadly, my parents will not be at this game as they're making their way to Boston with my sis...sooo I'm attempting to fill some big shoes...aka cook and have stuff ready to go first thing in the a.m...should be interesting.

This weekend is also exciting because one of my best friends from high school is flying into town and spending the weekend with me! She currently lives in NYC and has never been to a Clemson game/tailgate...she's in for quite the treat!

Happy Weekend and Happy First Weekend of College Football! GO Tigers!!!
