Summer Concerts

When it comes to concerts I have a soft spot. I absolutely teetoally LOVE live music. I live for going to concerts. It is always a good time. This summer there are so many concerts that I want to attend. So far on the list is...

1.) Kenny Chesney
2.) Amos Lee
3.) Willie Nelson, Lee Bryce and Jamey Johnson

My friend Merritt and I are also planning to attend one of DMB's Caravan concerts. Not sure which one yet but we definitely want to go! Have you seen the lineup? Can you say AH MAY ZING!!! Plus I love seeing DMB live...I have yet to get sick of it. Last summer Meritt and I went and I unfortunately do not remember the majority of the concert...don't judge...a good time was had. Anyways, I will NOT be making that same mistake at the DMB Caravan. If I'm going to pay $195 for 3 days (which considering the lineup and that it is for 3 days, that isn't that bad) I'm going to remember it!!!

Pregaming before the concert. It was SO hot...I mean it was July in the
Carolinas that we sat in the car so we could have the AC on!

During the concert!

Yesterday the lineup for Lollapalooza was announced and I now want to go...in fact...I HAVE to go...Coldplay is playing and I"m not sure when they will be touring again in the U.S. Merritt and I went to Coldplay two summers ago and it was one of the best, if not the best concerts I have ever been too! They were amazing live and played all of the goof stuff. I love going to concerts with Merritt...it is a blast and she loves concerts just as much as I do!!!

Us at Coldplay!

I'm thinking that I'm only young once and I want to live it up this summer so I should do both?!??

Hellooo Weekend!

To say I am happy that it is the weekend is an understatement! I've been gone the past few weekends so I was looking forward to staying home!

Yesterday I had the day off and I was supposed to begin my day with a massage! However, they called an hour before and said that they had to cancel. I was so bummed! I then was wayyy overdue for a pedicure so I went and got one! It felt amazing (not gonna lie sometimes I don't like going becuase my feet are SO ticklish...this one wasn't bad though and ended up feeling great woo hoo!)

After my pedicure I met up with a friend for lunch and then shopped with my mom for the rest of the day! We then made dinner and went to pick up Blakeli from being groomed! We ended our day with some Krispy Kreme doughnuts...I mean the sign was lit up so we had to stop...DUH! These are obviously not WW friendly, so I limited myself to one! It hit the spot!

Today I will be spending the day with my family! Hope everyone has a great Saturday and a Happy Easter!

Water for Elephants

Last night I finished reading “Water for Elephants” and I loved it! I even stayed up until almost midnight reading it which shows you how into the book I was! This is one of the best books that I have read in a while and would recommend it!

The movie comes out on Friday and I am excited to see it. I’m also excited to see Rob Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon in it! I hope the movie isn’t totally different from the book, because that always frustrates me!

Have you read this book? What did you think of it?

Tax Day Freebies and Discounts

Hello Tax Day! You sure arrived quickly! I filed my taxes back in February, shortly after I received my W-2 and 1099. I thought I was on top of the game and was proud of myself. I then received an email stating that my 1099 did not have the proper amount on it…FAIL. Initially I thought, no big deal, I'm sure it’s not off by that much. Then I received the updated 1099 and noticed close to a $500 difference. This meant that I now needed to amend both of my federal and state forms and send back money…boo. I updated my federal form last night and still need to do my state. My goal was to have them in by today but I’m not sure that’s going to happen…so much for trying to be on top of things .

Anyways, I heard on the radio this morning that there are tax day freebies and discounts at a bunch of places today! Yay! I thought I would share some of the deals in case you haven’t seen or heard about them yet!

40 Things Every Southerner Ought To Do!

I “officially” moved to the south in the summer of 2004. I lived here the previous summer with my parents but then went back to Wisconsin for my senior year of high school. So that makes it almost 7 years of living here. Throughout these 7 years I’ve always considered myself to be from the North or a “Midwesterner”. The North will always be home and I love it so much, especially Wisconsin, but the South (especially the Carolinas) is starting to feel more like home. I have started to realize all of the awesome things that the Carolinas and the south have to offer. I love that I can be in the mountains in less than an hour or at the beach in a few hours. I love that winter means wearing a fleece (maybe a heavier jacket a few times) and that it doesn’t last for THAT long. I also love all of the good food…which probably explains why I’ve gained wait and am on weight watchers ;).

Anyways, I love Southern Living Magazine. Even when we lived in Wisconsin my mom subscribed to it and still does so I would always read it. I was on their website and came across the article “40 Things Every Southerner Ought To Do”. I read through the article, and clicked on the various activities and then I got to thinking…I am WAY more Southern that I ever thought!!! I’ve done so many things on the list and I even say ya’ll now on a daily basis!!! The things that I haven’t done I am planning on doing in the next year! I guess this Northern girl is turning more Southern each day  and I don’t mind! How many things on this list have you completed?

Saturday.

Yesterday was a nice, relaxing day!

The day began with some shopping with my sister! We then had lunch and headed home. Our afternoon consisted of watching "Switch" with Jennifer Anniston. It was cute, but definitely not her best movie and its not one that I would watch over and over again.

Then I made sugar cookies and my sister started cooking dinner. We had barbeque chicken sliders, asparagus, and corn! Sooo good!

Then we had some Strawberry Lime Cupcakes seen here. They are to.die.for. The best part is that there is a WHOLE strawberry in the middle! The recipe is from the blog "How Sweet It Is". The blog is awesome and so are the recipes!

YUM!!!

The inside of the cupcake!

We then finished the day by watching "Morning Glory" with Rachel McAdams, Diane Keaton and Harrison Ford! I thought it was really cute and would definitely watch it again!

Today I'm doing a little shopping, cleaning and getting ready to head to the Masters tomorrow with my dad :) So excited!!!

-Thank you to my parents for being supportive of me and always here for me.
